The Alamo Square Flea Market this Saturday
Is your broke-ass burning to score some treasures on the cheap? This Saturday, August 18, 2012, you’re in luck! The Alamo Square Neighborhood Association (ASNA) presents the 29th Annual Alamo Square Flea Market.
The Alamo Square Flea Market features great antiques, estate pieces, and handmade items. Check out vintage items, art, and crafts from Alamo Square neighbors and local artisans. Vendors will surround the park on Fulton, Scott, and Hayes Streets from 9:00am to 3:00pm.
You may as well indulge in some cheap eats to maintain your appetite for shopping. Off The Grid is providing street food from gourmet food trucks, and the Creative Arts Charter School is creating a dedicated kid craft area featuring bubble painting, still-life drawing, and face painting on Grove Street near Scott Street. You can also enter to win a whole bunch of awesome prize’s from local shops and restaurants like Little Star Pizza, and you can even adopt a dog from Rocket Dog Rescue!
If you are a broke-ass with a big heart, you should probably know that The Alamo Square Flea Market is the Alamo Square Neighborhood Association’s biggest and oldest community event and fundraiser. It supports the maintenance of and improvements to the park that is our namesake and the preservation of the historic character of our neighborhood. It helps fund neighborhood safety, traffic calming, beautification projects, community socials in the park, and our bi-monthly newsletter. ASNA is a nonprofit, and all donations are tax deductible.
Street closures include Scott Street between Fulton and Hayes Streets and Grove Street between Scott and Divisadero Streets with access for local traffic only.
