“Twin Peeks” – A Benefit for the beloved Brown Twins featuring Kim Nalley
San Francisco’s favorite twins are in trouble and may no longer be able to live together, so our community has come together to raise some money for them and try to help them out. All the info is below.
The Red Devil Lounge is honored to present a night of Cabaret featuring jazz legend Kim Nalley, the stars of San Francisco burlesque, the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, and hosted by Suzanne Ramsey, a.k.a. Kitten on the Keys! Expect a few other surprise San Francisco icons when we come together as a city to pay tribute and raise money to care for Marian and Vivian Brown, the world-famous San Francisco Twins.
As you may be aware, Vivian Brown now has Alzheimer’s and following a fall, requires twenty-four hour care. The iconic sisters want to live together, but their income from Social Security simply isn’t sufficient. Last week, Mayor Willie Brown, asked the city to join him in helping the Brown Twins by donating to Jewish Family and Children’s Services. JFCS is one of the oldest and largest family service institutions in the United States, founded in 1850 by immigrant pioneers who arrived in California during the Gold Rush and created an extended family to care for each other. Thursday night, San Francisco’s extended family will do that.
That’s where you come in! Join your fellow San Franciscans in taking care of our own at the Red Devil Lounge for a night of entertainment!
