Dave Chappelle Joins SF Comics, Sup. Peskin To Save the SF Punch Line
As many know by now, a landlord is forcing the closure of beloved comedy club Punch Line SF by denying them a lease renewal this August. Punch Line will be looking for a different venue in San Francisco to continue its tradition of hosting legendary and up and coming comedians for decades. It is widely rumored that Google intends to move into the building because Google is already moving into the One Maritime Building cross the plaza from Punch Line and has been sniffing around all the adjoining property.
The rumors are as of yet unconfirmed because big corporations sometimes hide behind development companies and realtors when they’re acquiring buildings, (especially when they are kicking out beloved institutions.) Today, San Franciscans are publicly standing up to them and you can too! Join Dave Chappelle, Grammy & Emmy award-winning comic W. Kamau Bell, Emmy award-winning comic and CNN host, producer Nato Green, local SF activist and comic Kaseem Bentley, local SF comic, and Supervisor Aaron Peskin at city hall!
