Discover Yourself Today for FREE
Ever wonder why you look exactly like the mailman? Need to back your claim of being half Mexican, half German, and 100% awesome? Well, today you’ll have the chance to uncover all the mysteries of your family’s lineage for FREE at the California Genealogical Society and Library.
On the first Saturday of every month, the Genealogical Society offers a FREE class called Intro to Genealogy. Hosted by Lisa Gorrell this week, some of the things you’ll learn are how to create a pedigree chart, how to interpret a census form, and which resources are available to you online (hopefully for free or cheap as well). Then you’ll be on your way to nourishing your family tree!
It is requested that you sign up for the class ahead of time (do so here). You’ll receive a parking permit and a confirmation email containing directions to the Library. However, if it’s noon and you’re reading this in bed, don’t fret. The Library is open until 4pm on Saturdays and 9am to 4m on Thursdays and Fridays. Just bring your mailman or some information about your ancestors, and the librarians will help you learn more about your family’s past.
