FREE Cal Science & Engineering Festival

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

Calling all Science Nerds! This Sunday, January 23rd, the first-ever Cal Science and Engineering Festival will commence, bringing the geeky wet dreams of smart kids across the globe to life!

The sexy activities will allow you to:

Put solar power to the test, get hands-on with ancient fossils, discover the 'œscience' of unicycling and basketball, make your own earthquake, journey to the stars'”and more!

From the sound of it, the Festival promises to be as great as the mini-grocery store at the children’s museum, sans the suspicious looks from parents and jerky toddlers stealing your mini-shopping cart.

The schedule is packed with awesome science talks, performances, demonstrations and illusions, so make sure you give yourself enough time to properly get your geek on. Personally, I can’t wait to see 'œUnicycle Basketball: Science on the Court!'

Ali was born and raised in the Wholesome/Creepy capital of the world, Salt Lake City, UT. Once she was old enough to blow that pop stand she escaped to the place that was the anti-SLC: The Peoples Gay-public of Drugifornia aka San Francisco (holla 30 Rock!). You can now find her throughout this glorious city slurping Pho and scheming with her best friend Pinky doing what they do every night; try and take over the world.
