September is drawing to a close and San Francisco’s “summer” has begun. You know what that means – outdoor street faires, food truck parties, and all kinds of fun in the sun! And don’t worry, we won’t let the sunshine ruin the beginning of Spoopy Season either – there’s penty of ghostly and ghastly fun to be had as October approaches! Here’s what we’re most excited about for the week of 9/28/21…

Kat Robichaud’s Misfit Cabaret presents: ASYLUM

Kat Robichaud’s Misfit Cabaret is a splendiferous variety show centered around magical music with a rotating cast of eccentric performers. For each new Misfit Cabaret, emcee Kat Robichaud writes two original songs keeping with the theme of the evening and plays them with her Darling Misfit band, as well as a special medley to kick off the evening and welcome in the spirits of San Francisco’s saucy past. Join Kat Robichaud as she discovers the mysteries of the Alcazar Asylum, meets Patients, Doctors, and Nightmares in a bone-chilling comedy-horror musical variety show.

Bacchae Before

Bacchae Before is a hybrid, experimental work of live performance inspired by the tragedies of gender reveal parties and Anne Carson’s Bakkhai, a new version of Euripedes’ The Bacchae. Co-directed by playwright Maxe Crandall and choreographer Hope Mohr, Bacchae Before features a quartet of performers and original puppetry(!!!) by Mike Chin.

35th Annual Emeryville Art Exhibit

Celebrate Art and Artists at the 35th Annual Emeryville Art Exhibition, a month-long juried exhibition featuring over 200 pieces of artwork created by 87 Emeryville artists. The result is a carefully curated group show featuring the works of artists and craftspeople that live or work in Emeryville. The exhibition is open to artists of all media and includes paintings, sculpture, photographs, prints, ceramics, textiles, video, glass works, and literary arts.
