Stan Lee Dies, 47 Different Super Villains Claim Responsibility

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

Stan Lee, 1922 – 2018

Stan Lee, the legendary writer, editor and publisher of Marvel Comics whose characters and stories made him a hero to comic book lovers and movie goers all over the world, has died at 95 years old.  Although the Los Angeles police department insist Lee died of natural causes, dozens of evil geniuses, vigilante assassins, and misguided mutants are clamoring to take responsibility.

Marvel Supervillains rejoiced in the news and demanded rewrites to their respective strips and movies.

Lee created Marvel Comics and co-created Black Panther, Spider-Man, the X-Men, the Mighty Thor, Iron Man, the Fantastic Four, the Incredible Hulk, Daredevil and Ant-Man.  Many of his more villainous characters never forgave him for that.

Dr. Doom released this statement, “I crushed Stan, DOOM crushed him! None of these other minions could have done it!  DOOM destroyed the pathetic hero!”

Since Disney bought Marvel in 2009 (for 4 Billion Dollars) Marvel movies have been incredible successes at the box office both domestically and internationally, in fact Marvel titles Black Panther and the 3 Avenger movies make up 4 of the top 10 highest grossing films of all time.

“I instructed Stan Lee in the matters of loss and pain, I destroyed him! Now the villains will rein supreme!” – Green Goblin

On his own and through his work with frequent artist-writer collaborators Jack Kirby, Steve Ditko and others, Lee catapulted Marvel from a tiny venture into the world’s No. 1 publisher of comic books and, later, a multimedia giant.  His characters were often complex, flawed, and showed more depth and complexity than was previously expected of comic characters.

Magneto, “As the more intelligent species, one might even say that it was our moral responsibility to rid the world of the human Stan Lee, mutants shall take their rightful role as masters of the globe.”

Although many of his Super Villains rejoiced in the demise of the people’s favorite comic hero creator Stan Lee and claimed responsibility for his end, many of the Super Heroes Stan Lee created came out to praise his life and work:

Captain America

Iron Man

Wolverine

Gamora

The Hulk

The Wasp

So long Stan, your stories have had a tremendous impact on our culture and its story telling, you and your work will may be remembered and celebrated forever.
