Slow and Steady Wins the Dance Contest
Are you slow? I’m not talking in terms of intelligence or wit (you know you’re the funniest, smartest, lady/dood in the Mississippi), but actual, physical speed. Were you always the slow one in gym class? Does the idea of running, jogging, or moving at a velocity much faster than that of a leisurely stroll give you hives? Do you get tired just watching people move too quickly? If you answered yes to any of those questions, and even if you didn’t (you speedy jerk) then head on over to the Kaleidoscope Free Speech Zone for a magical evening of slow dancing. We’re not talking awkward, leave some room for jesus, middle school slow dancing, but literally dancing as slowly as humanly possible while still looking cool as cucumber. By dancing at the speed of turtle and looking good doing it, you will not only attract many an admirer, but there are wicked cool prizes awaiting those who do it best. Yay prizes!
To add to the excitement, you will be slow dancing to three local acts performing live! So Awesome, Delivery is Possible (celebrating their debut album “Dearest Betty Bug”), and Grand Lake will get you in that dancin’ like you’re 90 kinda mood and make you feel nice. There is a $5 charge at the door, but according to their site, entrance is FREE “if you need it.”
I’m not sure you’ll ever get the chance to win a competition by not going fast, so go, get your slow dance on and shake what your mama gave ya (or whatever a slow version of shaking is).
