Bernie’s Coming Back to San Francisco!

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

America’s favorite curmudgeon is coming back to San Francisco on March 24th.  I got to see Sanders speak a couple times at rallies in 2015/16, and I have to say, he was a genuine inspiration.  The platforms that newer, fresher-faced Democratic candidates stand on today, including Medicare for All, free public college tuition, holding officers accountable for police shootings, legalizing marijuana, banning golden parachutes on Wallstreet, eradicating the death penalty, raising carbon tax standards, and seriously supporting unionized labor, while raising taxes on the super-rich..their platforms were largely built by Bernie’s democratic-socialism campaign in the 2010’s.  The old codger from Vermont personally picked up the Democratic platform and moved it ten steps to the left.  (which is figuratively towards Sweden).

So, if you haven’t seen Bernie speak yet, it could be worth your while, Sanders announced his second presidential campaign on Feb. 19, and entered the race as an early top contender. He raised $5.9 million from 223,000 donors within the first 24 hours, his campaign is truly people-powered, (not billionaire powered).

Even if Senator Sanders does not win the nomination or become president, at the very least he will be written about in history books, if not for some of his great fights against corporate crime in Congress, and for bills in support of the poor and oppressed, then for simply moving the Democratic party and public debate, significantly toward more ambitious, progressive ideas in the 2010’s.

See all of his most recent legislation here.  It’s by far the most impressive of any candidate in the race. (including Trump)

Bernie’s rally, which will be held at Great Meadow Park at Fort Mason, follows recent campaign stops in Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina and Nevada. Before making his way to Northern California, Sanders will also visit San Diego on March 22.
