BREAKING: Newsom Shutters All Indoor CA Restaurants, Bars, Theaters, Due to Spike in COVID

Tt noon today (July 13) Governor Newsom announced that the state is halting all indoor operations for restaurants, wineries, movie theaters, family entertainment, zoos, museums, cardrooms, and bars across California.  Bars and breweries that do not serve food, “must close all operations both indoor and outdoor statewide.”

NEW: #COVID19 cases continue to spread at alarming rates.

CA is now closing indoor operations STATEWIDE for:

-Restaurants
-Wineries
-Movie theaters, family entertainment
-Zoos, museums
-Cardrooms

July 15th in San Francisco and in many cities across CA, was originally a target date for reopening many indoor businesses like hair & nail salons, tattoo and massage parlors and even zoos, indoor museums and outdoor pools.  Newsom, also reminded more stubborn counties that opened businesses like gyms and allowed church services to continue, that they also must close.

NEW: As #COVID19 cases and hospitalizations continue to rise, 30 counties will now be required to CLOSE INDOOR OPERATIONS for:

-Fitness Centers
-Places of Worship
-Offices for Non-Critical Sectors
-Personal Care Services
-Hair Salons and Barbershops
-Malls

Remember this doesn’t apply to restaurants, bars that serve food, and wineries currently serving outdoors.  Newsom is alerting everyone that indoor businesses will not be able to continue serving or reopen yet, despite the tentative scheduled reopening plan presented in June.  The state COVID death toll passed 7,000 this weekend, and there were around 7,000 new reported COVID cases in CA as well.

In cautious cities like San Francisco, nothing much should change, but in counties that allowed indoor dining (like Santa Cruz for example) to reopen earlier, Newsom is ordering them to stop.
