The Wooden Nickel Now Has a Pool Table on Their Parklet!

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

For many people, shooting pool is a quintessential part of their bar going experience. Some folks won’t even go to watering hole unless there’s a pool table. So the past 7 or so months has been pretty tough on swilling and shooting crowd.

Luckily, there’s great news! The Wooden NickelĀ in the Mission now has a pool table on their parklet! Full disclosure: Nancy Chung, owner of The Wooden Nickel is a very good friend of mine. That said, I would be reporting this anyways because there’s a fucking outdoor pool table in San Francisco!Ā The fine folks over at the Mockup Agency just built it this week and the official unveiling was a couple nights ago.

You can reserve your spot to play right here.

Now the more analytical minds are probably wondering how exactly this works. So here’s a breakdown:

ā€“ To play you must reserve and pay in advance.
ā€“ It’s $30 for 50 mins of play (This allows for 10 mins to sanitize sticks, balls, and all surfaces between rentals).
ā€“ Spend over $50 on food and beverage and receiveĀ 1/2 off pool rental ($15 is credited towards your bill).
ā€“ You must wear masks while playing pool andĀ 6 people max can play at a time.Ā
ā€“ Walkups only are taken if the time slot isĀ available.
ā€“ Reservations are for 1 hour only (No prorating or partial hours).
ā€“ No outside food or beverage allowed.

So there you go. There’s going to be a lot of happy billiards fans in San Francisco now.Ā These time slots are gonna move fast so you should book a spot ASAP.

You can reserve your spot to play right here.
