Easter Escapades in San Francisco this Weekend
Here comes Peter Cottontail… In America, we celebrate Easter with pagan symbols such as life-size bunnies and colorful eggs. In most other Christian countries , they are still stuck on that whole Jesus thing. For any of you that used to get dragged to church by your parents, you may appreciate the following Easter events that will be happening this weekend around San Francisco.
Zombie Christ Easter Haunted House
Why not go for an irreverent Easter romp through a “haunted house” in a hedonistic and possibly even offensive community-created theatrical spectacle, a labyrinth filled with queer displays themed around Easter and religion, which skewers traditional Christianity.
Expect to see a disco inferno, a zombie last supper, killer bunnies and tons of strange, gruesome and sexy creatures. A benefit for local LGBT organizations.

Sweet Jesus. What a Hunk!
The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence invite you to frolic and “make Mary” in the 3 ring circus that is our 34th Easter Anniversary, starting at 11:00 a.m. in Dolores Park on March 31st, 2013!
This year’s theme is “Under the Big Top,” and no one throws a 3-ring spectacle better than those sacred clowns, The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence.
There will be “chills” (so bring a sweater), “spills” (so bring your wine in a sippy cup), and fun for the young and those who look young thanks to their plastic surgeon.
See the “Bearded Ladies” as the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence host the ever popular Kiddies Easter Egg Hunt at 11 a.m. Gasp in wonder as we parade our annual Easter Bonnet Contestants for your awe and amazement. Swoon in ecstatic reverence as we crown the next Hunky Jesus! Watch as our own Pope Dementia the Last ushers in the Sisters for the communal Blessing in a puff of white smoke (don’t inhale….you might get dizzy).
The Kiddies Easter Egg Hunt starts at 11 a.m., and the rest of the show goes till 4 p.m.
