Party like Mad (Men) at Sheep Station Sunday

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

I’ve never seen Mad Men, but from what I understand it’s a television show that showcases a time period during which sexism was rampant and rich white men wore expensive suits while smoking excessively and guzzling Jack Daniel’s. Which sort of makes it sound a bit like 2010.

But Mad Men has its fans. Some of these fans thought up a way to get a whole lot of other Mad Men fans in the same room. This Sunday, Park Slope’s Australia-soaked Sheep Station is offering fans of the show a chance to showcase their admiration via a Mad Men Halloween party and costume contest. Better yet, the event doubles as a benefit for WomenforWomen, which sounds kind of dirty but is in fact an organization that works towards helping women all over the world move towards financial self-sufficiency.

The event starts at 7:30 PM, and costume registration runs until 9, with judging to commence at 10. FREE entry, but donations are, of course, strongly encouraged.
