Dogboi doing a jig on the bus

Way back when Broke-Ass Stuart SF was just a 33 page zine, I sold a copy to a guy named Ken.  Shortly afterwards he tried to hit as many bars from the zine as possible in a single night.  When he regained consciousness from his black-out he had a revelation: there needed to be a Broke-Ass Stuart Pub Crawl.

When he told me this idea, I knew it was destiny, so he and I rented a big yellow school bus and a trolley car, filled them up with our degenerate  friends and drove around drinking at various bars throughout the City.  The first one happened in November of ’05, The second one in September of ’06.  He threw one in ’07 but I couldn’t make it because I was researching Broke-Ass Stuart NY.

Anyway I’ve posted the photos from the ’06 pub crawl in the Photo section.  Go take a look and see what you missed out on.  Also, if you have any photos from either of the pub crawls, let me know so I can post them.  Thanks!

 Today’s Broke-Ass Tip:

If you need the phone number and address of a place, but you aren’t near a computer, you can text google and they will send you the info for only the cost of a text.  To do it, type in googl (466-45) {purposely leave off the “e”} and the text them the name of the place and the city.  For example: Dog Eared Books, San Francisco, CA.  The response comes almost instantly.  It’s awesome!
