DIY: Glass Bottle Photo Frames
It’s a pity that plastic is so popular, because glass really has it beat. It’s solid, feels sturdy in the hand, doesn’t ooze any chemicals when you microwave it or get stained strange colors and it’s much more satisfying to use if you have to say… smack a fool down. No one in movies ever gets hit over the head with a 2 liter of coke. That being said, don’t hit people with bottles. It’s not nice. Plus, you could take that bottle and use it for good instead. Any glass bottle can instantly be turned into a photo frame, all you need is scissors to trim your photos. Curl ’em, slip ’em and display ’em like so:
(If you have jars instead, you can add layers and make a photo album/terrarium by placing/draping stuff in front of or behind the photos – and don’t be afraid to glue stuff to the lid).
You can also get in the wayback machine and use that bottle to make yourself a time capsule. Sure, it’s a little 7th grade – but you remember how hilarious and fun it was finding your time capsule later? One hundred times better when your time capsule is filled with items like panties, mixed CD’s (or a flash drive) of your favorite songs of the year, drunken photos, tickets from the PD for said drunken photos, your ex’s love letters/journal, the phone number of the hot upstairs neighbor you stole from your roommate’s desk, ticket stubs, flyers etc. Write personal notes or a haiku about how much you hate your job, place bets, use it as a confessional. Seal everything up and find a safe, moisture-free location to abandon/bury your time capsule (places like: your parents garage, under the sink in your best friends apartment, any available backyard/side yard/patch of dirt). Now there, that’s better – and cheaper than posting bail.
