Celebrate the Solstice with Bushwick Farmer’s Market

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

In case you forgot between last December and now, let us remind you: The winter solstice is a big day. Dropping either on the 21st or 22nd of December in the Northern hemisphere, the solstice is celebrated all over the world as a day of change and rebirth. It’s also the point where the the daytime starts retaking its territory on the night.

Brooklyn’s finest market is celebrating the big day few days early. Bushwick Farmer’s Markets’s Winter Solstice is back for the sixteenth time, returning this year with a massive loft party. From what we can gather this year is going to bring much of the stuff that made the annual shindig so attractive in years past. Live music, lively Brooklynites, and, of course, the food. Better yet, this year’s event also brings a silent auction to the table. Proceeds for the auction go to the market, and the planners welcome item donations as well as volunteers. Just don’t forget to bring your own drink.
