Get Lost in Queens County Farm’s Amazing Maize Maze

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

It’s that time of year again…I’m assuming since our Spendthrift Scribe, Laura, sent you here this time last year. But this is 2011 and I’m going to be the one to send you off to Queens County Farm’s newly designed “Take me out to the Corn Field” maze. You have to admit that the corn maze looks rather sexy this year, sort of like Bud Selig hired a group of aliens to create a crop circle to promote the MLB Playoffs.

Sponsored by the good folks at Con Edison, the Amazing Maize Maze is already up and running through October 30th every Saturday & Sunday (with a special opening for Columbus Day on Monday, October 10th, 2011) from 11am-4:30pm. If you can’t make it during the daytime because you happen to be a vampire then you’re in luck because on October 8th & 15th, “Maze By Moonlight” will allow the maze to be open until 9pm.

Admission for adults is $9 and if you have kids (or if you’ve befriended a midget recently) they can get in for $5 while kids three years-old and younger can get in for FREE. And remember if you forget to pay your electric bill this month you can always say, “hey, buddy I got lost in that maze you sponsored out in Queens. So if I’m late on my payment it’s your fault.” Give it a try and tell me how that works out.

Enrique Grijalva - Mr. Minimum Wage

My father came, my mother saw...and I conquered. I encourage children to do drugs, I buy alcohol for teenagers, and I drink beer with the homeless. In my spare time, I attend art galleries for the FREE booze while rubbing elbows with modish elephants. I also hammer six-inch nails into small penises. Stuart knighted me as Broke-Ass King of New York. You've been warned.
