An Easy and Affordable Way to Help Out a Kick-Ass Non-Profit
Doing Good The Broke-Ass Way
San Francisco non-profit, BAYCAT (Bayview Hunters Point Center for Arts and Technology), is asking for your help this holiday season. Although, they would be grateful for your donation, they’re asking for a far more affordable type of support.
BAYCAT is beginning a movement. They’re asking you to share (on their Facebook Fan Page) a transformative moment from childhood when you were inspired and empowered to pursue your dreams. You can make a mini-video, or just write a post, and then ask your friends to do the same,
Building a story bank of inspirational stories, BAYCAT hopes, will not only empower the youth they serve, but also will show the impact arts education and youth mentorship has on a person, and in turn, a community.
Some BAYCAT supporters have already created a video sharing some of their stories. So help the movement spread by sharing your personal story of empowerment.
BAYCAT cares about sharing empowering stories. Seven years ago they were founded to facilitate the sharing of every persons’ story, through free digital media arts classes, which give underprivileged youth the tools to tell their story, and a platform that empowers it to spread. For more information on what BAYCAT does check out their website www.baycat.org.
If you don’t have five minutes to share your moment, or don’t have an inspirational story to tell, help BAYCAT reach their goal of 1,200 fans by January 1st by liking them on Facebook and asking your friends to do the same. For the super low impact good deed just tweet this:
