Kick Off the New Year in Comedy with 50 First Jokes on Wednesday

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

Get your tickets and head over the Bell House in Gowanus for 50 First Jokes hosted by John F. O’Donnell. Reaching its sixth birthday, this annual event is a must for any comedy nerd (take no offense, I am a comedy nerd myself.) The premise is simple: O’Donnell invites 50 of his comedian friends to come and tell their first joke of the year. More than a normal comedy club night, though, the event does double duty as a meet and greet for young comedians, and allows the audience a look into the process of how a joke is conceived and how it evolves.

Tickets are $12 at the door, but get them in advance here for a $2 discount.

Tiara Francis - NY Know-it-all

Tiara was born in NYC, raised in NJ, and after studying Comp Lit at Columbia, vowed to never go back to the suburbs. While she has expensive taste, she also has shallow pockets and is always looking for a budget way to be a weekend warrior. Her hobbies include laughing way too loudly, putting hot sauce on/in everything - including margaritas - speaking French at inappropriate moments, and dancing like there’s no one else in da club.
