The Best Things to do in San Francisco for Under $20 on New Year’s Eve

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

Father Time

Congrats on another year closer to death, broke-asses!

I spent most of my Christmas Eve in flying metal tube limbo on my way to see family. When I stepped off the plane for a layover in Vegas, no joke, there was a huge pile of shit that even the industrious stain-hiding carpet said, “Oh, hell no!” to. Human or reindeer, it’s anyone’s guess.

Despite being surrounded by slot machines, UGG boots, and sober adults wearing Santa hats, it made me feel like I was home. Which made me remember–Oh! I should start thinking about New Year’s plans! And then I got sucked into the Land That Time Forgot and just now happened to look at a calendar. Shiiiiiiit again. It’s time to figure this out! If 2014 is anything like 2013, I want to get on her good side right from the start.

So darling broke-asses, what are you doing for New Year’s Eve?

My back-up plan is to ride around MUNI all night (it’s FREE! cable cars too!) with a jug of homemade champagne, flinging DIY confetti made out of old transfers, and banging on the poles with a rusty fork.

But I also might spend that crisp $20 that my grandma gave me and get a little wild.
