You No Longer Have to Wear a Mask in These Places in San Francisco
Good news for people anyone who doesn’t like to wear masks! Starting today, San Francisco and Marin County are relaxing their mask mandates.
Last week we reported that Mayor London Breed announced that “On October 15, SF will begin easing mask requirements in indoor settings where stable cohorts of fully vaccinated people gather. This includes offices, gyms, college classes, and other organized gatherings of fully vaccinated people who meet regularly.”
And guess what today is! October 15th!
So there you go. If everyone is vaccinated at your office, gym, college classes, or other indoor places where the same cohort of people often gather, you can go maskless! That said, you still do have to wear masks in elevators and any other common spaces shared with other cohorts. Here’s a bullet pointed list for everyone who doesn’t want to read all this (which means mostly everyone):
- Offices
- Gyms and fitness centers
- Employee commuter vehicles
- Religious gatherings
- Indoor classes, lecturers, or similar gatherings who meet regularly with less than 100 people
As SF Gate points out, “The employer, or the host of the indoor gatherings, is required to control access and verify that everyone present is fully vaccinated. They must also ensure proper ventilation, no recent COVID-19 outbreaks, and that guests and children under 12 are not present, among other safety measures, the counties said.”
Indoor masking also continues to apply in bars and restaurants except for patrons while actively eating or drinking, subject to the proof of vaccination requirements.
