In Need of Some Outdoor Adventures? Sports Basement’s Got You Covered
Being outdoors is great. I like it as much as the next guy, especially with my puppy, Jack White, and a big ol’ 40 in tow. But I have to admit my idea of being “outdoorsy” is spending the day sprawled out on a beach blanket at Dolores Park. This has come into play a few times for me, especially in the form of people wanting me to go hiking with them. My response every time, pathetic yet heartfelt: “Ummm, no. Hiking is something I pretend to enjoy only when desperately trying to make some guy like me.”
It turns out, though, that hiking — and other outdoor Survivorman activities — don’t have to be the grueling bummer I envision them to be. I found this out through a great FREE e-mail newsletter called Weekend Sherpa, which comes out weekly and is devoted to finding the best, funnest outdoor adventures in Northern California.
On Thursday night, Brad Day, the founder of Weekend Sherpa, will be at Sports Basement in the Presidio sharing his list of top 10 things to do in an outdoor capacity — and you DON’T need to be a fan of hikes to come hear his suggestions! If our Indian summer keeps this momentum going, we’re gonna need all the ideas we can get for enjoying the weather while we can!
