World Pillow Fight Day at Union Square
Are you passive aggressive, love flash mobs, or really just enjoy the cathartic act of hitting strangers in the face? Well you’re in luck. because today is your day with International Pillow Fight Day.
In its sixth year running, New Yorkers have flocked to Union Square and all over the world in 115 cities to come together and have some good, clean, whacking fun. Despite the apppearence of utter chaos, there are some guidelines to follow. First and foremost, leave your fancy goose down feather pillows at home, otherwise someone might lose an eye. Also don’t be a dumbass and hit someone holding a camera and for the four-eyes out there, wear contacts or you can do what my Dad loves to do and break out the 70’s style sport goggles, your choice.
The action commences at 3:00pm in Union Square, followed by an after-party at HIRO Ballroom, hosted by professional dance-party enthusiasts GBH and DJ Alex English. RSVP here for reduced cover and don’t forget to ditch the PJ’s before you enter, (not that there’s anything wrong with that). Clean-up with be provided by Pillows for Puppies, which sounds like the best charity ever invented.
Let the pajama party fantasies begin!
