Have you been to the Fernet Barback Games? It’s a wonderful, beautiful, shitshow that happens once a year. Basically a bunch of local bars put forth their employees to compete in weird feats of bar stuff. Hilarity happens, as does lots of booze drinking. And the best part is that it’s 100% FREE as long as you RSVP. Here are all the official details:

THE 7TH ANNUAL FERNET-BRANCA BARBACK GAMES

The Fernet-Branca Barback Games returns for its 7th & largest year yet in the Bay Area.  Cheer on your favorite local bar establishment as they put their gladiators battling through a series of rigorous challenges to crowds of cheering industry friends.

On Sunday November 23rd, the best Barbacks from around San Francisco will compete at the legendary Regency Ballroom to determine the Bay Area’s best barback.

In the end there can be only one.

Stuart Schuffman, aka Broke-Ass Stuart, is a travel writer, poet, TV host, activist, and general shit-stirrer. His website BrokeAssStuart.com is one of the most influential arts & culture sites in the San Francisco Bay Area and his freelance writing has been featured in Lonely Planet, Conde Nast Traveler, The Bold Italic, Geek.com and too many other outlets to remember.
