I have a love-hate relationship with creating TOP 20 playlists of local bands. On one hand, the playlist becomes my favorite thing to listen to for the next year. Additionally, it makes it super easy for me to recommend bands to friends. I also love posting a link to the playlist in my friend’s Facebook feeds when they say, “tired of my music, I need a new playlist.”

Speaking of San Francisco’s pinnacle outdoor festival … now is the time that I would like to take a second and to throw some serious shade at their attendee’s totem creations.

Phono Del Sol officially kicks off the summer concert season in San Francisco—and unofficially marks the start of summer dog walks. Although the true stars of the show are the ones on the stage, the festival might come to be defined by dog celebrities, whose coats are shiny, collars colorful, and, of course, always Instagram-ready.

This last weekend at BottleRock brought together hundreds of musicians, chefs, vintners, brewers, and distillers for a three-day blend of music, wine, food, craft brews, and spirits. With so many wines to choose from BottleRock Music Festival is hands-down the best festival for getting wine drunk and taking a nap. Viewers can enjoy a live performance from any of their four stages with their eyes shut.

Recently Netflix and Hulu both released their documentaries about Fyre Fest. All my friends have watched it … then they called me and were like, “OMG … Did you see the documentaries? It’s so good, how bad this festival was.” To which I have to reply, “ARE YOU FREAK’N SERIOUS?! I’m planning my biggest event of the year … NO, I’m not watching a documentary about how everything could go wrong for festival organizers!”
