In a generous curatorial display, the museum sent out an open call to local Bay Area Artists earlier this year. Over 7000 artists submitted. Even with the reduced amount of artists who were accepted, the population of this show is the size of a small town. The curation was ambitious but hung with care and a surprising amount of detail.

Oakland’s Gray Loft Gallery is a gem of the Jingletown art scene and their Summer Salon proves it. The show is closing on Saturday, August 26th and I highly recommend the trip to see it. 12 Bay Area Artists make up the show. Utilizing a wide range of mediums and
