Make Your Buttons Say Anything You Want

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

Buttons are undeniably awesome. They’re whimsical, tiny and fit on hats, ties, jackets, shoes, wristbands. They’re also often the cheapest thing at a merch booth, which means for a buck or two (or free! flirt with merch guys!) you can support your favorite comic/zine/band/sarcastic slogan.

"Think For Yourself Not For Me" - ah, to be 15 again

But'what about when you start hating said comic/zine/band/sarcastic slogan because they killed the main character/started printing advertisements for the GOP/sold out by giving an interview to Pitchfork/you realized you look like an ass wearing a button that says “Don’t Piss Me Off '“ I’m Running Out of Room for the Bodies” ? Well, you can paint right over that sucker and get yourself a new button!

Paint your buttons!

Stop right there – Fashion Police! And 16thMission.com!

Rep your crew/band/zine! Make fun of others! Celebrate a birthday/holiday/$2 beer day! Slap a sticker on it, use glitter, or googly eyes. You have the power! And now, you have something to do with all those outdated political buttons you found in the bottom drawer of Nana’s house!

Her button says: Let’s Make Out!
