Hermes: 60% Off At The Metropolitan Pavilion

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

Have you ever walked up to the door of the building in which you work and someone says: 'œCan I help you?' But not 'œCan I help you?' in a nice, helpful kind of way, but 'œCan I help you?' in a way like you are somewhere where you are not supposed to be? Like you don’t deserve to be there?  Like you are sneaking into the building?  Like you just walked past a giant line of people waiting inside velvet ropes to get to some very exclusive Hermes sample sale or something?

That happens to me a lot.  It just so happens that there is often a big, long line of people waiting behind velvet ropes to get into my building.  It just so happens that they hold sample sales there.  It just so happens that they have people guarding the front door.  It just so happens that I walk into the building and the guard wearing a '˜secret police’ earpiece finds it necessary to ask me 'œCan I help you?' in a very condescending tone of voice because he thinks I may be crashing the sale.  Well, I am not crashing the sale.  I am reporting to work' as is my duty.  If I didn’t have anything better to do, I may find the time and resources to kill time in line for a Hermes sample sale.  If I didn’t have to work, I wouldn’t bother to fight the crowd of people on the street giving me dirty looks for apparently cutting the line and otherwise judging me on what I am wearing'as if it isn’t Hermes-worthy.  Don’t worry about it, dude.  I am not going to your precious sale.  I am going to the eight floor where a day of annoying work waits for me.  Touche.

If you, dear reader, would like to go to the precious Hermes sample sale where Hermes merchandise is up to 60% off, it is open to the public March 24 '“ 28th at the Metropolitan Pavilion.

See you there.

Christine Witmer - Sparing Stringer

Christine was born and raised in the land of the Pilgrims, Plymouth, Massachusetts. She turned in her buckled shoes when she moved to NYC to attend NYU. From that esteemed University she received her BFA in theatre as well as a Master's Degree in Performance Studies in 2004.
Now an actor, writer and broke ass day-jobber, Christine juggles her many personas with the elegance of a red panda. specifically the one in the Prospect Park Zoo . . . soooooo cute! She can be found most often in her own habitat on the Northside of Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
