FREE Screening of Triplets of Belleville
Did you see the Triplets of Belleville? If not, you need to. I’m afraid to admit that I usually don’t like animation but this is on another level. Because it’s French. They might not be as good at welcoming tourists, quitting smoking, or bathing, but they’re better at things like making animation seem serious, wearing berets without irony, and also hating Jews. You win some, you lose some.
Anyway, back to the subject at hand, the Triplets of Belleville is being screened for FREE at Linden Street Brewery in Oakland. The event is sponsored by Walk Oakland Bike Oakland (WOBO), a biking/pedestrian advocacy group. This is a great organization that often teams up with the the East Bay Bicycle Coalition, who puts on FREE bike safety classes all throughout the East Bay (check their schedule here).

Get there when the doors open at 7pm, because the organizers only say that the movie “starts at dusk,” which makes me assume that when you get there they’ll also offer to read your aura, but that’s their own damn fault for saying “dusk.” (They could start a Movie Phone company gives movie showtimes in reference to where the sun is in the sky.) According to the Facebook invitation, Guerrilla Grub will provide food (if you consider hot dogs to be “food,” which I, of course, do not) and the proceeds from the purchases of Linden’s beer will go towards bike and pedestrian advocacy in Oakland. Can’t beat that!
