Four Items One Soup for $5 at Jimmy’s House
Cheap daytime meals are easy to find in New York. Diners still make eggs, toast and home fries for around four bucks. You can find enough change at the bottom of your bag to get a bagel and cream cheese. And for non-breakfast foods, there is nothing better than Asian lunch specials, where you get a giant entree and an appetizer for less than a six pack of a middle of the line beer. But there are fewer cheap dinner options, except at Jimmy’s House where the food gets cheaper as the day goes on.
Jimmy’s House is a tiny Chinese and Vietnamese restaurant. They’re pretty moderately priced, but their best deal lives in the steam table. All day, they serve a combo deal with a soup and food items of your choice. But after 7pm, you get four items and one soup for $5.
