Celebrate All Things Mission This Saturday
Celebrating the melting-pot better known as the Mission
Oh, the Mission….(sigh). Definitely the most colorful, diverse and energetic neighborhood in our city. A smile comes to my face when I think of good times I’ve had searching for the best Chile Verde burrito, relaxing in the sun in Dolores Park, riding bikes down Valencia, shopping in cute botiques and passing time (or passing out) at any of the numerous bars in probably the coolest hood in San Francisco.
This Saturday, Public Works presents an 8-hour event celebrating our melting-pot neighborhood, with music, art, fashion and fun. For just $5 (with RSVP), everyone is invited to come early and enjoy FREE FOOD & DRINK SPECIALS from 8-10pm. FREE tasters from 8-10pm (while supplies last and full portions also available for puchase) courtesy of Gypsy Kitchen (BBQ), Angry Man Eats (Chicken n Waffles), Panguita/wachinango (fish tacos/tostadas), and Saucy Dumplings (asian/fusion dumplings, gourmet buns and noodles).
Dance the night away on the main stage with a live performance by Ghosts on Tape and Afrolicious DJ’s gettin’ funky with live percussionists. Start of Mardi Gras a bit early with a “Masquerade Carnival” upstairs. There will also be fashion installations and trunk shows presented by local designers and vendors.
Even if you’re so broke, you never thought you’d be donating your money to any greater cause than your own liver transplant, your $5 will benefit SF General Hospital, SF General’s Dr. Rick, Psychiatric Department Volunteer & Rehab ServicesRoot Division SFSmiles. Do the right thing this Saturday night – celebrate all things Mission.
