Me Like Cafe Bunn Mi

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

I know what you’re thinking. Another Bahn Mi restaurant on Clement St.? Cafe Bunn Mi literally just opened and I have to admit, although it looks a bit non-authentic (and the name seems a bit Americanized), it really is. The outside looks more like a coffee shop than most Vietnamese restaurants in the area – and the clean interior boasts a screaming red wall and counter service. There are about five tables and nice big windows to gaze out onto the bustling sidewalk while slurping up the rice noodles out of your Pho.

The prices at Bunn Mi are totally broke-ass friendly. A friend and I ordered a Buddah tofu sandwich, for only $4, Imperial rolls with that awesome sauce for $5 and the lemongrass beef Pho for $7. Oh, I almost forgot – we also got some delicious Mojito Lemonade (non-alcoholic) for just $1 with any food order. Yum! Bunn Mi made me pretty happy. I would go back to try the other stuff on the menu – especially the fried duck sandwich, the five spice chicken and the avocado shake.
