“The Telephone Book” at 92Y Tribeca
Look, I’m not a big film person. I like movies… some mainstream, some a bit more obscure. But I’m not some film snob. I don’t discriminate; I’ll see anything. So when my roommate told me about this screening, I thought I’d share.
“The Telephone Book,” a 1971 gem, is screening tonight at 92Y Tribeca. The film is about naughty little Alice and her search through Manhattan for an obscene caller. She scans the white pages to find this mysterious man and on the way encounters all that Manhattan had to offer in the early 70s. Right. There will also be a Q & A with the producer of the film, Merv Bloch. Tickets are $12… still very affordable… and a bargain for this piece of NY underground.
