Fiddler’s Green Rumored to Close This Week
The two story Irish pub, restaurant, and dance floor has apparently lost it’s lease according to a reliable SF source. Word is they will be closing Saturday 10/31/2015
Fiddler’s Green is a bright spot in a tourist addled cluster of Fisherman’s Wharf. The bar caters to locals and visitors alike, shows Irish sports, serves quality corned beef and knows how to pour a pint of Guinness properly. More than once I found myself on their upstairs dance floor, dancing like an Irish lunatic, we swore the whole building shook. I remember even showing up the next morning for a good Irish breakfast and some hair of the dog.
The bar was old-school and ran with pride.
We called the Fiddler’s to ask, the bartender said they would neither confirm nor deny the rumor. But it appears the rumor is true, and Fiddler’s will be shutting its doors permanently
