Macy’s Puppies and Kittens Holiday Windows Are Back In An Online Stream
The adoptable and adorable kittens and puppies of the annual SF SPCA Macy’s Holiday Windows are not in the Macy’s windows in this cursed COVID-19 year. But those cute little critters are being shown in those windows. There’s a Holiday Windows puppies and kittens livestream, plus other furry footage on screens in those downtown SF Union Square windows, and you can watch the puppy and kitten live cams from your computer or mobile device.
These three rascals on our puppy cam are too adorable! ??

You can see the little scamps go at it on 3 live cams altogether; the SF SPCA Kitten Cam (which features little, tiny kittens), the SF SPCA Cat Cam (whose cats are slightly older, but still basically kittens), and the SF SPCA Puppy Cam (which totally features puppies). These live cams of animals, so there’s no guarantee they won’t be asleep for extended periods, or pooping in front of you.
2020 has changed a lot of things, including the annual tradition of adoptable @SFSPCA puppies and kittens displayed in the Macy’s holiday windows. This year, it’s virtual @sfchronicle pic.twitter.com/Tr44b9XvDA

The livestream is a different display than what’s playing in the downtown SF Macy’s windows. Those screens are playing videos of kitties and pups who’ve previously found forever homes through the SF SPCA rescue program.

“To adhere to COVID-19 safety guidelines, this beloved holiday tradition will look different this year,” the SF SPCA said in a statement. “Instead of filling the holiday windows with adoptable animals, this year we have created special videos of SF SPCA shelter alumni. Check out the outrageously cute puppy, dog, kitten, and cat videos in the windows at the corner of Stockton and O’Farrell Streets, as well as inside Macy’s.”
#sfspca Holiday Windows starts today through January 3!?
This year's virtual festivities include special animal videos in the windows, selfie stations and animal ambassador appearances throughout Macy's

This is still an adoption drive, and you can apply to adopt a rescue kitten or puppy on the SF SPCA website. They’re also gladly accepting SF SPCA donations to help care for the critters who are still stuck in shelters.

And speaking of Macy’s holiday-related things, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is still happening Thursday morning — with absolutely no in-person audience permitted. It plays on your local NBC station from 9 a.m.-Noon in all time zones, though will also be streamed on Youtube for free, and available on demand afterwards.
