Bar Workers Ball Tomorrow Night!!

Calling All Service Industry Workers (ONLY!):

Working behind the bar or out on the floor tended to be a little on the lean side this year. Things have gotten so bad that the city has become a veritable graveyard of boarded up taverns and dusty dining rooms with papered windows.

Despite the fact that you didn’t make as much as you thought over the holidays, it doesn’t mean you didn’t bust your ass nonetheless, right? RIGHT!

Well, friend, toss your apron aside and put your wine key in your back pocket.  Its time for you to take a well deserved break and allow my colleagues and I to throw you a little bash where you can tie a few on and swap war stories with your equally shattered comrades from across the booze soaked hills of this rainy, frigid sand spit.  It’s time dear chums for the 2010 San Francisco Mid-Winter Bar Workers Ball!

Now, in its fifth installment, it’s a chance for you to come down, eat some, drink some, and maybe cut a rug to a few tunes provided by local djs amongst one of the most diverse selection of your peers.  From the Marina to Visitaciòn Valley, Dogpatch to Stonestown and everywhere in between; bartenders, barbacks, servers, bouncers- IF YOU WORK IN THE INDUSTRY, YOU ARE INVITED!!!

Also, there will be contests and prizes,  kids! Some of the contests will be judged by a celebrity panel of guest judges, which just might include a certain Broke-Ass Somebody…

In addition, we will be collecting money at the door to help aid Doctors Without Borders in their relief efforts in Haiti.

SPECIAL THANKS TO THE SF BAY GUARDIAN, DIMMI, BI-RITE MARKET, AND EL RIO FOR THEIR GENEROUS SPONSORSHIP.
