FREE Moore Brothers Show @ Oakland’s First Fridays
Remember when I told you to go to the Oakland Art Murmur before the months of incessant rain started? Well it looks like global warming has bought you a few more weeks of rain-free fun (my circadian rhythm was so confused by yesterday’s nearly 80º temperature that I forgot it was winter and literally asked my friend what you do this time of year in Tahoe, to which she replied 'œski' and looked at me like I was some kind of idiot).
And the snowcaps couldn’t be melting at a better time, because December’s First Friday will feature a Moore Brothers concert at the Uptown that will be, in their words, 'œFREE as fuck.' The Moore Brothers hail from Nevada City, the magical region that has spawned the likes of Joanna Newsom, Alela Diane, Aaron Ross, Lee Bob Watson, and Mariee Sioux (some of my favorite musicians hail from that little Grass Valley town'”you should check them all out).
Also playing are Oakland’s own All My Pretty Ones and B. Hamilton (plus $2 Pabst before 9pm). So after you get an eyeful of art at all the galleries, go get an earful of awesome.
