Clean Up Dolores Park on Saturday — You’ll Be There Anyway!

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

It's May -- time to get high at the park!

Hey, remember when that rumor surfaced about Dolores Park closing and you listened to all 1,000 Elliot Smith albums on repeat, felt that there was no need to take showers anymore because where would you even go to show off your freshly-scrubbed body anyway, and hid under the covers for a week muttering, “Gavin should fucking do something about this”?

Yeah, me too.  But we all know now that the park is gonna get prettied up in stages and stay open for happiness and speedo-tanning!  So what should we do to show our complete and utter elation?  Come out to Dolores on Saturday and clean it up, of course!

Join Dolores Park Works at 10am on May 1 to make our awesome park even awesomer and be handsomely rewarded!  Starting at 12pm, May Day festivities will ensue, including games (water balloon toss, anyone?), music, and  delicious food from La Cocina food vendors.  Proceeds from food sales will go to Dolores Park Works, where the folks care as much as you do about your if-there’s-even-a-glimpse-of-sun-I’m-there hangout!  So buy up and don’t forget the “Col’ beer, col’ water”!

Christy Jovanelly - Cheapskate Commentator

When Christy announced she was leaving her family's Southern California home and moving to San Francisco, her mom said, "Have fun in that den of sin." This is the only (however sarcastic) advice Christy has ever taken from her mom, who also told her to join and cover her eyes during sex scenes in movies. Christy puts her creative writing degree to good use by locating the typos on Chinese food menus and spends most of her time challenging friends to all-you-can-eat contests and trying to get that one bartender at Zeitgeist to smile.
