Bawdy Storytelling at The Blue Macaw
If you haven’t figured it out by now, I’ve got a foul mouth and an even dirtier mind. I mean, I took a write up about a reading at the Knockout and turned it into this for fuck’s sake. I like twisted stories and completely uncouth jokes…the more demented, the better.
So with this in mind I present to you Bawdy Storytelling, an event where people get up and tell their own real life dirty stories! It’s like stealing a copy of your dad’s Penthouse Letters, but instead of reading it while wanking and listening with trepidation for your parent’s car to pull up in the driveway, you have the narrator there telling you the story in person.*
The theme for this month’s installment is “Agent Provocateur: Instigators & Troublemakers”. I’m not quite sure exactly what that entails but here’s the official facebook invite so you can suss it out yourself. I’m totally gonna read there one of these days:
Everybody knows one: that Mischief Maker who walks through the door of a Saturday night snoozer-of-a-party with Tequila in one hand and a bag of prophylactics in the other, handing out condoms to bored attendees with a 'œHere, go use this – I have faith in you!' Suddenly, the air is charged with amorous possibility and it’s time to celebrate – your own personal molotov cocktail has arrived, and you’re about to get your money’s worth!
This month, we exalt those human sparkplugs who won’t let you go home until you’ve experienced their salacious superpowers. From a first date with a (criminal) firebrand, to a hellion’s traveling sexual adventures, to a guy who finds himself the target of a brigade of horny geriatrics, this show is all about those party starters who make the action happen. Bawdy hopes this night of stories will inspire you to go out and create some impassioned pandemonium of your own!
*That being said, please don’t beat your meat during Bawdy Storytelling. This is a reading for fuck’s sake, not the Folsom Street Fair.
