Drink At Dogpatch Saloon
All bars should be erected in the image of Dogpatch Saloon. You will find nothing but great bartenders pouring stiff drinks with the occasional sound of live jazz permeating the background air.
Dogpatch has a real old school feel to it. From the worn and dirty checkered floor to the décor to the patrons themselves, this place is somewhat of a throwback. That said, the saloon has a number of other things many of us search for in a good bar.
The bartenders themselves are a bit older, and damnit, their years have taught them well. The well drinks here, which are usually about four to five bucks, are stiff enough to make your eyes squint and your nose curl. The cheaper bottled and canned beers are only a few bucks as well.
What’s more is that on Sunday afternoons, from approximately 4:30p.m. – 9:00p.m., Dogpatch plays host to a variety of jazz bands. The bands vary from week to week and there is a five dollar cover, but that does potentially lead to FREE food offered from time to time.
Plain and simple, Dogpatch Saloon is a mellow, neighborhood watering hole. It’s perfect for catching a Giants game, watching a bit of live jazz, or grabbing a drink or six.
