Vibrate to Moombahtom this Friday!

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

This Friday night, November 18th, at SF Public Works– get ready to blush. Well, at least the first time I saw this crazy kind of dancing going on, I think I turned bright red. Think of girls with big booties shaking their thing – like in that Mr. Ghetto Wallmart video that was so popular on You Tube last summer. If you aren’t sure what I’m talking about, google it.

Anyways, this new music craze is called moombahton. According to the founders Vibrate! Moombahton w/ Paul Devro & Sabo, “It is the fast-growing new dance genre that cross-pollinates Dutch house and reggaeton, soul and dubstep, hip-hop and house into a bastardized, bass-bumpin’ burrito of awesome.” Diplo and his trailblazing label, Mad Decent, have been early adopters of the moombah style and we are thrilled to introduce the Mad Decent crew to Public Works for the first installment of VIBRATE!

The event will be featuring the new residents of the monthly party:

MATT HAZE (Slayers Club, Bikes & Beats)

PAUL DEVRO (Mad Decent, LA)

SABO (Moombahton Massive, NYC/LA)

If you don’t know what else to do this Friday night, and feel like shakin’ your booty, hit up Public Works and see some r-e-a-l ass shakin’ going down (and up). Guaranteed to make you sweat, you are in for a bootylicious good time. And hey – I guess this even qualifies as Broke-Ass Soft Porn!

Vibrate! Moobahton Friday, November 18th, 9:30 p.m.-3 a.m. $5 Entry before 11 p.m. with RSVP (and FREE Mad Decenet Swag) $10 after SF Public Works  161 Erie St. [Mission]
