We all need a little extra cash sometimes, but getting an extra job or pawning your crap is not ideal. There are several ways you can utilize your smartphone or your computer to obtain that little extra oomph for your budget.

Apps

There are droves of smartphone apps that will pay you to use them, but most aren’t worth the time investment. However, a couple do stand out. If you know anything about anything, you can download the ChaCha app and get paid to answer ChaCha user’s questions.

If you lead a healthy lifestyle and are good at sticking to goals, the pact app is for you. You set your weekly exercise and nutrition goals and get paid to stick to them. But beware, if you don’t keep your promises, you’ll be the one paying the members who do.

There are also several websites where any average joe can put a little more than just chump change in their pockets.

Websites

At Fiverr, you can sell just about any product or service for five bucks. You can join an eJury and get paid to help lawyers and law students practice trials, or make fun of movies over at RiffTrax in exchange for dough.  Gamblers and/or sports enthusiasts can earn a little cash by joining a fantasy league, but if you don’t have that much time to invest, ESPN’s streak for the cash is your best bet.  Flipping real estate has made many people wealthy, but you can also flip things online with minimal effort by participating in online storage auctions or mining for sports memorabilia or collectible trading cards.

Intimacy

The folks over at Rent a Friend insist that everything is on the up and up: you’re only renting out your time to spend platonically with someone. I advise you to proceed with caution, though. If you have no bubble and you’re okay with the possibility of things getting a little weird, you can always become a professional cuddler.

So, you know, there’s a lot of interesting ways to make money. But then there are really interesting way to make money. If you’re the first person to raise your hand and say, “Where do I sign up?” when everyone else raises an eyebrow and scrunches a nose, read on…

We all know that women can sell their used panties or sext strangers anonymously, but that’s not for everyone. If you’d like to profit from the billion dollar fetish industry, but don’t want to feel like you’re doing anything innately dirty, there are a few options.

Ever heard of gastro-voyeurism? Basically, people will pay to watch you eat a lot, or a certain type of thing, or eat messy things a certain way. All you need is a webcam and a stomach of steel.

Body Parts

You can also take completely mundane and innocent photos of normal body parts, like your feet or collarbones, and sell them to fetish sites.

There are classified websites out there solely for those trying to sell their hair, but what no one will tell you is that not a single soul on them wants to make your hair into wigs, extensions, or dolls. All of the buyers, every last one, are fetishists who enjoy watching women with really long hair cut it extremely short or shave it all off.

My advice would be to go into it knowing this, because if not, they will all try to trick you. State clearly in your ad that you intend to shave your head or get a very short cut, for the right price. Do not cut your hair first and try to sell the ponytail, and don’t take the first offer that comes your way.

I realize that those last few options really only apply to women. Men, if you want to profit from this industry without becoming a stripper, well… I’ve got nothing for you. Although maybe one of you could start a sexy bearded lumberjack website? I’d be into that myself.

Either way, if you need to make a little cash on top of your day job, but don’t want to get another job altogether, consider some of these options, and don’t be afraid to let us know how they work out for you.
