The lights
hung from long wires,
like illuminated veins.
Dogs
walked by
skinny model girlfriends.
Shallow sugar pots
constantly refilled;
chiseled servers with
too much rouge
smile freely,
obediently.
Shaded nobodies
saunter slyly,
and I,
I watch
and judge,
as always.
