1 in 4 U.S. Adults is Now fully Vaccinated!
Data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention shows that 24.9 percent of adults in the US were fully vaccinated as of April 7th. In another nice bit of news, their data shows that 40 percent of adult Americans and 75 percent of seniors have received their first shot.
COVID-19 Vaccinations in the United States
Far be it from a San Franciscan to gloat but our city’s vaccination rate is above 30%, with 50% having received one dose. Kaiser Permanente is the leading provider of vaccines in SF, and now that the mass vaccination sites like Mascone Center and Oakland Colleseum (which will remain open) are administering the J&J ‘one shot’ vaccine, this pace will only increase.
As of today 50% of San Franciscans over 16 have received a vaccine.
We're vaccinating almost 12,000 San Franciscans per day.

President Joe Biden pledged that 150 million shots would be given in his first 100 days across America. In March, he moved that target up to 200 million. Since then, the country has regularly administered 2 million to 3 million shots a day.
As you can see from the chart bellow Pfizer is the leading shot administered in the US followed closely by Moderna, while Johnson and Johnson is a distant third. The J&J shot is the only one-shot vaccine currently being mass administered in the US.
By April 19, all states are expected to make all adults eligible for a Covid-19 vaccine. Everyone is eligible starting April 15th in California. The vaccine is free to everyone, so go get it!
