Artists: SF is Holding “I Voted!” Sticker Design Contest

Updated: Aug 22, 2023 07:55
The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

For you artists, doodlers, sketchers, painters, cartoonists, and democratic enthusiasts out there, you’ve got the opportunity to have every voter in San Francisco walk around with your work on their chests during the 2024 Presidential Primary and General Elections,

The top three winners will receive a cash prize of $1,000 for first place, $500 for second place, and $300 for third place.  And designs can be digital or hand-drawn, and you can download the template via the SF gov online submission portal.

This is the “I Voted Sticker” Template, download your own here!

The Department of Elections is accepting submissions as of Monday, August 21, 2023 through Friday, September 22, 2023.  You can pick up paper templates from them too if you don’t have a printer (or submit online).

On October 10th the Department of Elections will display nine design finalists on their site here, and at the physical office (Room 48 City Hall).   And people can vote on what design they like best (including if they just like last year’s version).

We may just hype the designs we like on @brokeassstuart too.  Here’s an example of a San Franciscan posting their rough draft on Reddit:

If you know an artist/creative, let them know!  Their work could become a little part of SF history, along with being included in every Vote-by-Mail packet and at every polling place in the city.

Why not take a swing at it yourself?

The nine designs will be displayed on this page and in the gallery in front of the Department of Elections’ office, Room 48 at City Hall. Anyone can make their choice online or in person!
