The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

Calling all art lovers! Over 100 artists from around the world are coming to San Francisco’s Fort Mason Center (FMC) to take over Fort Mason’s 50,000 square feet of pavilion space from March 21st to the 24th. Superfine Art Fair, in partnership with ArtSpan and Art Battle, will be transformed into a massive art gallery and fair with a diverse roster of artists. Imagine over 100 booths filled with art, each offering direct interaction with the creators themselves.

You’ll get to shop thousands of pieces of art during the Superfine Art Fair with diverse styles and museums – with something for everyone’s taste & budget. There are 25 new artists coming to this year’s SUperdine event which is extra exciting.

As the daughter of a ceramicist, I grew up going to art and craft fairs. So, it’s no surprise that my favorite part of the event is the direct interaction with artists at their booths which adds an extra layer of authenticity to the entire event. Getting to talk directly to the artist allows visitors to learn about the inspiration and techniques behind each artwork firsthand. Overall, the sheer variety and immersive atmosphere make shopping thousands of art pieces a fun adventure no matter what.

There will also be some fun events happening throughout the weekend. Thursday’s opening night will have a carnival-like party atmosphere. Then, on Friday the 22nd, 12 artists selected from the Superfine and Art Battle communities will compete head-to-head – the winner will get a complimentary booth courtesy of Art Battle and the fair organizers. Additionally, ArtSpan presents an interactive sculptural installation at the fair which I’m personally excited to see what they have in store.

About Superfine Art Fair:

Superfine is a traveling art bazaar that started in Miami over 10 years ago. They’ve since traveled all over the US and have showcased over 2,500 artists. They first came to SF in 2020 and are excited to return for another year.

“The FMC team have created a cultural hub in San Francisco that resonates globally, and it’s the perfect spot for our unique, democratic version of the art world to roost and call home,” touts fair director and CEO Alex Mitow.
