Hill Country BBQ’s Feed Your Face Challenge
In case there’s a chance that you didn’t stuff your face quite fully enough on Superbowl Sunday while watching my hero, Queen Latifah sing the national anthem, Texas-style BBQ-ery Hill Country is hosting one of the most daunting eating challenges I’ve been apprised of since Adam Orellana stomped on a bunch of Shark Bites and dared Alan Atspi to eat them during recess in third grade.
Inspired by 80s film classic The Great Outdoors, the folks in the kitchen have put together the FEED YOUR FACE CHALLENGE! In which they challenge you to consume the following in under 60 minutes:
½ lb. of Moist Brisket
½ lb. of Lean Brisket
½ lb. of Beef Shoulder
½ lb. of Prime Rib
1 Small Hot Side
1 Small Cold Side
32 oz. Soft Drink
1 Cupcake of Your Choice
You cannot take a bathroom break, you cannot have extra time, but if you DO manage to consume this beast of a meal (which is by the way, $65 value) the food is absolutely free, and you get a free hat and t-shirt along with your name and picture on the Wall of ‘Cue.
It’s a trade-off for what is certain to induce hours and hours of indigestion but if you’re feeling kinda low, anaemic and sluggish, as is the custom in the dead of New York winter, perhaps consuming an astronomical amount of meat in an environment of social pressure is  just what the doctor ordered.
We’d love to feature the story of an eating competitor on this site, so if any of you New York readers out there are interested in volunteering for the Feed Your Face Challenge, and having your experience documented, leave a note in the comments section!
