Audio Heirlooms 5th Annual “Listening Party” on Sunday
Often, when someone has died or the realization dawns that the kids are no longer kids, people will lament that they had never pulled out a tape recorder to document all those little things and stories that happened back when.
For five years, Evan Roberts of Audio Heirlooms has been doing just that. Recording everything from baby coos, to historical recollections to the sounds on the dance floor of someone’s wedding day.
Sunday, February 28 he’ll be throwing his anniversarial 'œlistening party' at the Slow Club. Recordings will be played through the night that include a broad combination of birthday salutations from Clint Black and Brad Paisley, a cameo by late columnist William Safire and a woman recounting the day Harvey Milk was assassinated.
To segue between the varied audio, Rupa Marya (Rupa and the April Fishes) will be lending her talents.
Farina’s Chef Danny Bowien will also be on hand to offer tastings of his award winning pesto; and to offset what you may end up spending at the bar, free offerings from the kitchen will be passed through the event.
