A Cool Alternative to Finding Housing on Craigslist
As anyone who’s ever gone to a cattle call style interview while looking for an apartment can tell you, finding housing on craigslist can be a complete and utter clusterfuck. Yes, I’m pretty sure that’s the technical term for such a thing.
Luckily Jesse Woeltz, (who also does Seaweed Sway and the Chasing the Moon music series) has come up with a bit of an alternative. Jessie started this google group for those of you who are a little burnt out on the whole craigslist thing. The group is a place where people can post vacancies they have in their apartments so that other members of the community can see them and pass on the info or use it themselves. Here’s the blurb:
http://groups.google.com/group/looking-for-housing
Looking for housing in the San Francisco Bay Area? You can sign up for this group at the link above to receive emails of housing announcements (a lot of them are co-ops or open-minded eco-friendly households). You can also just look at the site to see recent posts, and respond to the appropriate email address if interested in the place. If you know of a room opening, please send it to seaweedsway@gmail.com to post it to the list.
So there you go. It may be a little to crunchy, hippie sounding for some of you, but for those of you that are into that kind of thing, you might find a great new place to live. Good luck!
