FREE Tonight: New Years (From Your Living Room)
With today being the last day of 2010, our attention turns to the events that such an important date habitually brings in.
We’re going to be perfectly honest: Engaging in any one of New York City’s seemingly-countless New Year’s parties is not an endeavor fit for the broke. (You can sample a few here.) Very few of parties are cheap, and you are more than likely liable to question the legitimacy/safety of the ones that are. Hence why the safest (read: cheapest) bet is to eschew any and all external events and stay home. Your wallet will certainly thank you for it.
This is where your living room comes in. See, you can actually celebrate New Year’s quite comfortably from your own home. This is good for a number of reasons, many of which should be clear. You won’t have to deal with hordes, nor with the glut of unwelcome 12:00 AM kisses that come with external celebrations. We know how much you hate kisses, after all.
So instead of going out, stay home, pop open a bottle of champagne, and turn on the television. We hear this Dick Clark fellow is kind of great.
